Tuesday’s planned helicopter landing at Homewood-Flossmoor High School was canceled when the chopper was needed for an actual medical emergency.
The helicopter landing has been re-scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, weather permitting. It will take place on the high school soccer field located near Flossmoor Road and Kedzie Avenue.
The helicopter landing is part of a Flossmoor Fire Department training exercise. Fire department personnel are training for and participating in a medical transport simulation.
The helicopter is being provided by the University of Chicago Aeromedical Network (UCAN).
