Portillo’s Restaurant is opening a hiring office June 16 at 17818 S. Halsted St. in Homewood, located between GNC and Famouse Footwear. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. 

The restaurant has 200 staff positions to fill for its Monday, Sept. 15, opening. 

Employees must be at least 16 years old. Position salaries start at $9 an hour. 

Staffing will be approximately 60 percent part-time and 40 percent full-time.

Nicole Quinn, executive recruiter, said interviews will be held on the spot. The first round of orientations for new employees will be June 22, and a new class of employees will be trained every Monday up until one week prior to the Sept. 15 opening.  

The restaurant’s weekly hours of operation will be 10:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
