Homewood police find most retailers comply with tobacco regulations

A Flossmoor woman was killed in a bus crash Tuesday on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, according to a Chicago Tribune report.Aimee Coath, 51, was struck by the bus about 5:50 p.m. near Lake Street. Eight other people were injured in the crash, according to the report.The driver of the CTA bus has been cited for not stopping at a red light and for failure to exercise due care.

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
