H-F Foundation awards 14 scholarships

Graduating high school students who live in Homewood are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship from the Homewood Police Association.The Officer Paul Edward Buckley Memorial Scholarship is awarded "to an individual who is committed to public service," according to information from the association.The deadline for submitting an application is June 15. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
