Lise Gilly's Grupo Cha Cha, billed as  "The Lovely Ladies of Latin Jazz," will be next up in the TrueMuse jazz concert series with a show Thursday at Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood.

The group is "guaranteed to stir your emotions, get your toes tapping and on your feet," according to a news release from Ravisloe. "Grupo Cha Cha will take you on a cultural journey through the rich and often unsung history of female Latin composers"

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
