La Voute Bistro is still taking shape, but in a little less than a month, the whine of power saws will be replaced: The sound will be of music and the wine will be by the glass.
The bistro is a key feature of the long-awaited La Banque boutique hotel on the northwest corner of Ridge Road and Martin Avenue.
Grand opening festivities will culminate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening June 13, and the hotel will be open to the public June 15.
The adaptive reuse of the old bank building began in 2012 when Great Lakes Bank sold the building to Gendreau Homewood Holdings, owned by Dr. Claude Gendreau.
The building’s history has played a defining role in the design of the hotel. It’s name is French for The Bank, and the bistro’s name is French for The Vault. Features of the bank, including the main level vault and safety deposit boxes, will be kept in use in the new establishment.
Gendreau also owns Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood.
