Debbie Berman

A reconstituted Homewood-Flossmoor High School board elected Richard T. Lites its president for another term on May 4. David Mayer was elected vice president/secretary.

Lites thanked his fellow board members for the vote of confidence and extended “a heartfelt thanks” to voters who got to the polls to re-elect four board members.

John Farrell

With the Cook County Board of Elections certification of the April 7 election results, the previous school board dissolved and the new board was sworn in.

Newly elected board members are Debbie Berman, John Farrell, Jody Scariano and Tim Wenckus. Berman and Wenckus, who were filling board vacancies, won election for the first time. Farrell and Scariano were re-elected to the board. The four board members beat out four challengers in a hard fought campaign.

Tim Wenckus

“Your conduct was compelling and appropriate,” board member Gerald Pauling told the four.

“It is quite a pleasure and a humbling experience to serve,” Berman told the audience.

Jody Scariano

Wenckus said winning was a team effort, and he thanked Dana Noble, president of the Homewood-Flossmoor Education Organization, for the teachers’ support. “It means a lot to us,” Wenckus told Noble.
