Homewood teacher addresses legislators’ questions on National Board certification

Homewood School District 153 officials announced Monday that the district will conduct screenings to determine eligibility for its free preschool program on Tuesday, May 5, and Friday, May 15, at Willow School.

Children must be 3 years old on or before the day of screening.  Proof of residency is required at the time of screening.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
