H-F Viking Orchestra returns from successful performances in Spain

The Cancer Support Center will recognize the outstanding support of Canadian National Railway by presenting the Founders Award to the Homewood-based company at its spring gala on Saturday, April 11, at Olympia Fields Country Club.

Canadian National (CN) has been a committed supporter of The Cancer Support Center n Homewood and Mokena the past 20 years. The award celebrates CN for recognizing the founders’ vision of upporting those dealing with cancer.

“The Cancer Support Center is a very unique and valuable facility in the Southland that offers its services not only for local residents, but for those across a wide region,” said Jim Kvedaras, director of U.S. Government Affairs at CN and vice president for The Cancer Support Center’s board of directors.

“When one is diagnosed with cancer, his or her life, along with every family member around them, becomes irreversibly changed,” Kvedaras said. “The no-cost programs and services the center offers, in a warm and caring environment, are designed to be useful resources for any family members who want or need information on what to do from here on forward – information that is frequently hard, if not impossible, to obtain from the medical community.”
