State Sen. Toi Hutchinson, D-Chicago Heights, will host a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, to provide an update on the spring legislative session and to discuss budget issues facing the state.
The meeting will be held in the conference center at Prairie State College, 202 S. Halsted St., in Chicago Heights.
“As you know, Illinois faces many fiscal challenges, requiring us to evaluate all state spending,” Hutchinson said in an email message announcing the meeting.
The meeting will give constituents an opportunity to learn more about the budget process and to “weigh in on the challenges we all face,” she said.
Ralph Martire with the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability will give a budget presentation, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions afterward.
