Candidates forum shows sharply different views of H-F High School

In just a few hours, local women will have an opportunity to treat themselves to an evening on the town.

Girls Night Out, sponsored by the Downtown Homewood Business Association, is an annual event that gives local businesses a chance to give their customers something special. 

From 6 to 9 p.m. 10 downtown businesses, all within walking distance of each other, will be open late with discounts, trunk shows, wine tasting and entertainment: 

  • Anjel’s Boutique, 18050 Dixie Highway, will have line dancing demonstrations;
  • Art 4 Soul, 18135 Harwood Ave., will offer a girlfriend’s tattoo and margarita party;
  • Civilitea Gardens, 2025 Ridge Road, will offer organic tea specials and vegan baked goods;
  • Edward Douglas Salon, 18048 Martin Ave., will feature spa specials, a $10 brow treatment and free glitter and topcoat;
  • Homewood Florist, 18064 Martin Ave., will have girlfriends specials;
  • Global Fusion, 1961 Ridge Road, will feature hand treatments, jewelry and gemstone and crystal trunk shows;
  • Nathalie’s Interiors, 2009 Ridge Road, will have girlfriends specials;
  • Paintertaining, a new business at 2049 Ridge Road, will have $20 painting sessions;  UpsaDaisy, a boutique that opened a week ago at 18100 Martin Ave., will host a wine and dessert party; and
  • Wellness Integrative Medical Center, 18036 Gottschalk Ave., will provide organic facials.

Each shop will offer patrons a chance to enter in a drawing for a gift basket that includes products from participating businesses, including Vera Bradley house slippers from Nathalie’s Interiors, a Ugandan hand crafted sunburst tray and bottle of white wine from Global Fusion, a cabernet soy candle from Upsa Daisy,  a scented crystal rocks and sachet from Art4Soul,  restorative bath salts from Civilitea Gardens, Andalou Naturals Age Defying Skincare from Wellness Integrative Medical Center and a gift certificate from Anjel’s Boutique.
