Renovation work on Homewood Village Hall is scheduled to begin April 6, according to Village Manager Jim Marino. Public Works Department crews will be moving second-floor village departments late this week and early next week to the former Ryan Funeral Home, 18022 Dixie Highway.The temporary move will allow renovation to work to proceed faster and with less disruption to village operations, according to village officials.Residents . . .

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
