The James Hart seventh-grade girls volleyball team is headed to Peoria Saturday to participate in the Illinois Elementary School Association state volleyball tournament.

The Panthers were 13-0 during the regular season, won two games during regional competition and one in sectionals to earn a spot in the state tournament, according to Coach Renee Rycraft.
“We are super excited and hope to go as far as possible in the tournament,” Rycraft said.

The team will play at 3:30 p.m. against Champaign Edison. If they win, they play again at 5:15 p.m. If they lose, they exit the tournament.

If the Panthers win their first game Saturday, they are guaranteed a spot in the final four round Tuesday, March 17, Rycraft said.

If they win their second game Saturday, they will play for the championship Tuesday. If they lose the second game Saturday, they play in the consolation game Tuesday.

All games are played at East Peoria Central Junior High School.
