H-F girls fall short against Benet, will seek third place today

They came very close again, but the Homewood-Flossmoor High School girls basketball team had to settle for fourth place in the Illinois High School Association class 4A tournament Saturday after losing 43-41 to New Trier.

According to an Associated Press report, the Vikings (20-8) were led by Nadia Green, with 12 points, followed by Faith Suggs and Bria Stallworth with nine points each.

The Vikings lost Friday to eventual class 4A state champion Benet 77-71.
