The Homewood-Flossmoor High School Girls Basketball team will be competing this weekend for the Illinois High School Association’s Class 4A state title when they play Benet Academy tonight at the Illinois State University’s Redbird Arena.
The team advanced after winning the March 2 Super Sectional game in overtime. H-F tied the game against Trinity High School at the buzzer, and managed to come back with a 72-68 victory. The Vikings record is 20-6 this season.
With a win tonight, the H-F team will advance to Saturday’s final game for the championship title. If the team comes up short, they will play in Saturday’s consolation round for third place.
The game will be televised live on Comcast Sports and also broadcast on WHFH-88.5 FM, the Homewood-Flossmoor student radio station.
