Advocate South Suburban Hospital skilled nursing facility among the best in the country according to U.S. News & World Report

Homewood Mayor Richard Hofeld created a considerable amount of buzz Jan. 27 when he announced that Portillo's planned to open a restaurant in Homewood this year.

The project will be on the village board's agenda Tuesday, March 10, as trustees consider an amendment to the Washington Park Plaza Planned Unit Development that would permit Portillo's to build a restaurant on the southwest corner of Halsted and 175th streets.

Plans call for the former Shooter's building to be razed, Hofeld said.
