Homewood trustees approved a number of measures related to business development at the regular board meeting Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Village officials noted they also plan to meet with two downtown businessmen next week in attempt to help resolve a conflict over parking.

Trustees approved

  • a downtown Business Incentive Program grant not to exceed $6,000 for Paintertaining, an art and socializing business planning to open in March at 2049 Ridge Road.
  • a special use permit allowing A2Z Nail Spa to expand its business to include foot massage services in the adjoining space at 18120 Dixie Highway, formerly Blackberr Harvest Dollhouse Museum.
  • an extension of a redevelopment agreement with INX International Ink Company, which plans to expand and improve facilities on Maple Road in the Prairie Lakes Business Center.
  • a reorganization of village departments to allow greater focus on economic development efforts.
  • an increase in the village amusement tax from 2 to 5 percent, returning the tax to its original rate.
