District 161 board rejects computer purchase for PARCC testing

Quick look: 

  • Homewood trustees approved an $80,000 contract with Global Studios to conduct the first phase of the planning process for a community science center to be located in the former Ryan’s Funeral Home.
  • Trustees approved a $402,000 construction bid for renovation of Village Hall. Village Manager Jim Marino announced that second-floor office staff would work in Ryan’s Funeral Home during the project, which is slated to start in March.
  • The 2015 street resurfacing program was approved. The $470,000 costs will come from the motor fuel tax fund.
