Suspect in grocery stabbing not fit for trial, examination says

After a bitterly cold first week, winter has been a no-show this month, but that’s about to change as a winter storm move into the area tonight and will make winter lovers happy and motorists miserable tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the area from 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1.

Snow is expected to begin accumulating tonight. The Homewood-Flossmoor area could get anywhere from six to 12 inches of snow, according to the NWS alert.

Winds gusting to more than 35 miles per hour are expected Sunday afternoon and could produce blowing and drifting snow.
