The Village of Homewood welcome three new firefighters to its fire department at the Tuesday, Dec. 9, board of trustees meeting.
Joseph Exline was sworn in as a full-time firefighter/paramedic, and Matthew Regan and John Swietek were sworn is as part-time firefighters.
Homewood Fire Chief Robert Grabowski introduced the new members of the department.
Exline is a graduate of Ingalls Memorial Hospital paramedic program, Grabowski said. He is a certified firefighter with special certifications as an firefighter apparatus engineer and hazardous materials technician. He has worked for the Homer Township Fire Protection District, Roberts Park and Monee.
He started with Homewood Fire Department in August as a part-time firefighter.

Regan completed basic firefighter training in Romeoville. He has worked for the Tinley Park Fire Department and Palos Fire Protection District.
Swietek is a certified paramedic and certified swift water technician. He also works for Peru EMS and Utica Fire Department.
