Quick look: Homewood trustees approve Martin Avenue plan, funding question raised

The Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle was born in June, a response to the gradual disappearance of media coverage of our community. The staff currently includes four volunteers. We're interested in knowing whether we're on the right track. We think a great community deserves a great newspaper, and we need your help to reach that goal!

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
