‘Tis the season of giving, but should you give to panhandlers?

Area residents are invited to attend several concerts in December at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, according to a news release from the school. All the events are held in the school's Mall Auditorium, 999 Kedzie Ave., Flossmoor, and feature musicians and singers from the school's extensive Fine Arts Department. December events:

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
