State Sen. Michael Hastings (D-Tinley Park) announced a new bill, Senate Bill 3673, that would address concerns with the Senate Bill 16, a proposal to make school funding more equitable across the state.
South suburban school district officials and parents have been concerned that SB 16 would significantly reduce their state funding.
“Senate Bill 3673 would protect south suburban school districts that would be catastrophically impacted by financial cuts in general state aid that would occur under the proposed Senate Bill 16,” Hastings said in an email to constituents Tuesday, Nov. 25.
