Winterfest coming to Flossmoor Library Dec. 6

Celebrate the holiday season with Winterfest at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., Saturday, Dec. 6.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. with children's story time, according to a information from Library Director Megan Millen.

Then from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. the library will host a children's holiday party, with a balloon artist, caricature artist, face painting and hot chocolate.

There will be a tree lighting at 5 p.m.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
