The Flossmoor Police Department is investigating the theft of several manhole covers, according to an email alert from the department.

During the overnight hours Monday, Nov. 10, someone removed manhole covers from several locations around the village.

Similar incidents occurred in nearby communities the same evening, police said.

Police ask any one who witnesses suspicious behavior or non-public works personnel removing manhole covers to dial 911 immediately.
