The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is marking Veterans Day with its own special celebration on Monday, Nov. 10, that is open to all veterans, active adults and seniors.
Registrations are being accepted until noon Thursday, Nov. 6, for this program at the Irwin Community Center, Ridge Road and Highland Avenue in Homewood.
The noon event opens with a special presentation for veterans, followed by a luncheon of short ribs, vegetables and potatoes topped off with pumpkin pie for dessert.
A special musical show by the Chansonettes will feature patriotic music.
The fee is $10 for H-F Park District residents; $15 for non-residents. This program is open to all, with veterans getting a half-price discount. Registrations are being accepted by the park district staff at 708.957.7275.
