On Friday, April 17, Gov. J.B. Pritzker extended the suspension of the 2019-20 school year to the end of the semester to fight the spread of COVID-19.

She persisted, though, and eventually the organization’s leaders relented, providing some equipment and letting girls use the fields during the day, when no boys’ games were scheduled.
