H-F’s Group Interpretation team presents 30-minute drama Thursday

A special presentation of “From Dreams to Drama: Remembering Lorraine” will be performed by the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Group Interpretation team at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in the Mall Auditorium.

Group interpretation is a competitive 30-minute drama performance. This play tells the story of Lorraine Hansberry and her efforts writing the play “A Raisin in the Sun.”

Performers are on a stage with minimal accoutrements and they wear a uniform costume. In 2018, H-F’s team was selected IHSA state champions.

The production is under the direction of teacher Janine Stroemer, with student directors Adeera Harris and Ally Ryan.

Zoe Bridges will perform as the lead character Lorraine Hansberry. Other cast members are Charles Austin, Morgan Barber, Nia DeRamus, Starr Hollis, Jack Johnson, Nathaniel Jones, Jonathan Kriarakis, Aaron Newman, Victoria Olaleye, Zora Shannon, Nia Smith and Jaekwon Watkins.

Music for the performance will be provided by Lauren Gosha, Charlotte McManus and Rowan Moxley.

Crew members are Teagan Bednarek, Nia Bell, Payton Brown, Max Cichon, Davi'De Cole, Ta'Myra Crossley, Jordan Drayton-Plaxico, Miranda Esparza, Amya Hampton, Gabrielle Jones, Sophie Kapica, Jacob Kirlin, Mackenzie Lyseng, Noelle Oh, Anaya Powell, Kortni Robinson and Sheri Tarrer.
