Restaurants will collect donations for Lighthouse LGBTQ, a support group for area teens that was founded in Flossmoor three years ago.

Downtown Flossmoor will be closed to traffic starting at 4 p.m. Friday to provide enough time for the event setup. The intersection of Central Drive and Park Drive will be closed after the Friday morning rush hour.

According to the National Weather Service, sunny skies and temperatures in the high 70s are forecast on Friday, with a chance of showers at night.

Flossmoor’s celebration of Pride Month started at the beginning of June, when rainbow flags were posted around the downtown area.

Lighthouse sponsored a Pride Party at Flossmoor Community House at the end of June in both 2017 and 2018. This year, the party is moving to Martin Square in downtown Homewood, where it will take place June 28.
