Property tax relief request returns to Homewood trustees agenda

A request for Class 8 property tax relief will be back on the Homewood Board of Trustees agenda Tuesday after being deferred at the board’s previous meeting. The request for a Class 8 designation renewal by Zainab Inc., owner of the gas station and business strip at 17945 Halsted St. was deferred when Trustee Jay Heiferman suggested the village ask the property owner to address maintenance issues.
 

A request for Class 8 property tax relief will be back on the Homewood Board of Trustees agenda Tuesday after being deferred at the board’s previous meeting.

The request for a Class 8 designation renewal by Zainab Inc., owner of the gas station and business strip at 17945 Halsted St. was deferred when Trustee Jay Heiferman suggested the village ask the property owner to address maintenance issues.

In other business, the board will:

  • Consider a budget amendment and bid waiver for stormwater repairs and lift station pumps of $97,200. 
  • Receive annual reports from the village Beautification Committee, Stormwater Resource Committee and Planning and Zoning Comission.
  • Consider a resolution for any work performed on village streets by the Illinois Department of Transporation during 2019-2020.
  • Consider a resolution determining which closed session minutes or sections of closed session minutes no longer require confidentiality.
  • Consider a resolution approving closed session minutes from July 2018 to December 2018 and authorizing destruction of audio recordings of closed session meetings from Jan. 1, 2017, to June 30, 2017.
The board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the village hall board room, 2020 Chestnut Road.
