A dramatization of the Last Supper will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 18850 Riegel Road in Homewood.

Members of the Homewood church are being joined by members of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Glenwood in presenting this free program.

This presentation is based on Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” painting. It gives guests the feeling of being present at the Passover meal as each character talks about his relationship with Jesus and personal doubts about his ability to remain faithful to the tenants Jesus preaches.

The cast includes Timothy Biel Jr., Carl Boyens, Lee Bridges, Jessie Cunningham, Russell Hoganson, Eric and Alex Rechsteiner and Ric Smies of Homewood; Gerald Scrutchins of Flossmoor; Paul Tausch of Steger; Tim Gardiner of Tinley Park; Timothy Mercer of Chicago Heights; and Edward Davis of Chicago.

A combined church choir, under the direction of Kathy Boyens, will sing several anthems reflecting Holy Week.

Mary Lee Hoganson of Homewood will again act as director of the drama.

“I am moved each time we present this drama, and see the emotional response of those who attend,” she said. “It has become my personal Lenten journey.”
