  musical “Beauty and the
  Beast” set for 7 p.m.
March 1 and 2 at the
  school.

This is an abbreviated version of the original Disney movie. The production is directed by music teacher Adrienne Olsen.

The cast was selected before the holiday break in December. Rehearsals have gone on for the past seven weeks.

Isabella Jackson, daughter of Robyn and George Jackson, portrays Belle, the young woman who shows love to the Beast and rescues him from his personal demons. She is a choir member at Hart and says her favorite song in this production is the “Mob Song” when the assembled masses tell of their decision to go on a rampage to destroy the Beast. It brings out all the voices of her fellow students.

Backstage, Aaron Latman, son of Robin and Brian Latman, has things under control as the stage manager, making certain all the students hit their marks, scenery is in place, props are ready and timing is correct.

Supporting the students is the Homewood Parent Music Association, whose members will provide all ticketholders with a scoop of ice cream after the show. Guests can also view the Spring Fine Arts Exhibition after the show.

General admission is $6 and $3 for children 6 and under.  Tickets will be available at the door.
