Homewood Public Library levy shows no tax increase

The Homewood Public Library is not expecting to see an increase in its tax levy, according to Amy Crump, executive director.

The board will accept public comment on the proposed levy at a hearing at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the library, 17917 Dixie Highway. The board’s regular meeting will be held at 7 p.m.

The library’s report shows the corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2017 were $2,676,342, and the same amount will be used for the 2018 levy, Crump said. Additional information on the levy is available at the library.

The tax levy will be sent to the Cook County Clerk’s Office. The staff there will set the final number for the purpose of tax collections in 2018.
