Golf outing on Monday raises funds for The Cancer Support Center

The Cancer Support Center is hosting its 25th annual golf and dinner fundraiser in memory of Steve Fallick at Flossmoor Country Club on Monday, Aug. 29.

Golfers can register at 10:30 a.m. A complimentary lunch, sponsored by Land O’Frost, will be served before the shotgun start at noon. Golf continues until 5 p.m.

A dinner, sponsored by Walt’s Food Centers, will be open to both golfers and The Cancer Support Center supporters who want to enjoy the evening. Entertainment after dinner will be by Tropixplosion.

Organizers have also planned a Great Duck Race, auction, raffles and games. All proceeds will support the programs and services provided free of charge to those living with cancer and their loved ones.

Individual tickets for golf and dinner are $275. Golf foursomes start at $1,100. Individual dinner tickets are $50.

Golfing is in memory of Steve Fallick. His late wife, Jennifer, helped organize The Cancer Support Center and 23 years ago designated the golf outing as a fundraiser in her husband’s name. The money from that event helped The Cancer Support Center purchase its headquarters building at 2028 Elm in Homewood.

“It is an honor to host our 25th golf outing,” says Sue Armato, Executive Director. “The golf outing gave our founders the resources to begin offering support to those living with cancer. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the community and center friends.”
